Who we are
Algorithm7 is the business name of Algorithm Seven Incorporated, a company incorporated in British Columbia, Canada ("Algorithm7", "we", "us").
We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Questions about this policy go to our privacy contact at info@algorithm7.com.
What this policy covers
This policy covers algorithm7.com, the forms on it, and the Lab Portal at algorithm7.com/portal.
It does not cover data that a data owner licenses to us, or data we deliver to a buyer. Those are governed by the written agreements described on our Data Rights page.
What we collect
When you use a form
- Your name, work email and company.
- Your answers, such as the type of data you need or have, and anything you type into a free-text box.
- A record of your consent: that you agreed, when, and which version of this policy you saw.
Please don't send raw data, client details or private records through a form. The forms ask for a description only.
Technical information
- Your IP address, used to block spam and limit repeated submissions. We store it only as a one-way hash, not as the address itself.
- Your country, as reported by our hosting provider, and your browser's user agent.
- Signals collected by Cloudflare Turnstile, the spam check on our forms, to tell people from bots.
In the Lab Portal
- Your verified work email address. Access is limited to verified @openai.com and @anthropic.com addresses.
- Sign-in records kept by Cloudflare Access.
- When you accepted the portal terms, and which samples you viewed and when, with a hashed IP address and country.
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To reply to your request and talk about whether a dataset or a test fits your needs.
- To run the Lab Portal, keep it secure, and keep an audit record of who viewed which sample.
- To protect our site from spam and abuse.
- To meet legal and contractual obligations.
We don't sell personal information. We don't add you to marketing lists without asking first.
Consent
We collect form information with your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@algorithm7.com. If you do, we'll stop using your information for that purpose, unless we need to keep it to meet a legal obligation.
Service providers and where data is stored
We use trusted providers to run our site and business:
- Cloudflare, for hosting, our database, email delivery, spam protection and Lab Portal sign-in.
- Google Workspace, for our email.
These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it's there, it may be subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access by its authorities. We require our providers to protect personal information and use it only to provide their services to us.
How long we keep it
- Form submissions: up to 24 months after our last contact with you, or longer if we enter into an agreement with you.
- Lab Portal records: for as long as your access continues, and up to 24 months after that.
We delete or anonymize information when we no longer need it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@algorithm7.com. We'll respond within 30 days, and may need to confirm who you are first.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
We protect personal information with access controls, encryption in transit, hashed IP addresses and limited staff access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep risk low and will tell you about a breach when the law requires it.
Changes to this policy
We'll post any changes here and update the date and version at the top. If a change is significant, we'll make it clear on this page before it takes effect.
